The research stage
We do not necessarily do business with every company that approaches us and is interested in expanding its business activities to West Africa, but only with those companies whose products or business ventures have a fair chance of success in the region. This conclusion is normally reached after we have carried out an initial market scan on a client’s products or intended business venture and carefully assessing the degree of potential success in the west African markets. Time is money and we will seriously evaluate your product or mission in west Africa and give you a realistic prognosis of your venture and honestly advise your company.

Agatrade & Consultancy has an option for companies who would first wish to have some research done before embarking on the venture. We have contacts with very reliable and capable research companies in the west African sub region who do qualitative research to help interested foreign companies first of all ascertain for themselves if it is worth venturing into the market.

Entry strategy and Identification of prospects

Agatrade & Consultancy depending on the client’s specific need would screen and evaluate every potential partner in case of a search for a joint venture partner or provide a list of potential credible distributors/agents for your type of business. We shall guide you in making a choice.

perational phase
Having together agreed that the business venture has great chances of success, we then get straight into business by first of drawing an Action Plan to do the following:

Contact potential partners/Distributors/Agents first to assess their interest in order to see if it tallies with our interest.
Arrange a visit to the country to meet with the leaders and decision makers. This would give the client a first hand knowledge of the status of the potential partner’s business activities and enhance quick decision to be made as to either get into business or find an alternative which Agatrade & Consultancy can always arrange in a very short period of time.
